Step 2: Run the scanned PDF to Text OCR Converter
You can choose one of the following three ways to run the scanned PDF to Text OCR Converter:
1.Double click the icon of eePDF PDF to Word OCR converter.
2.Right click the icon with the mouse; > click Open on the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Input PDF files.
You can directly drag the PDF files to the list box in the interface of the scanned PDF to Text OCR Converter, then all the PDF files and their sizes will be displayed on the list box.
You can also add PDF files in another way: Click Add PDF File(s) in the interface; > select the files in the list box of PDF2Word dialog box; >click Open.

Step 4: Select an option to OCR scanned PDF files
In the first combo box titled Output Options, there are six options concern the OCR features. These options enable the computer to recognize scanned PDF files written in six languages like English and French. If you want to convert a scanned PDF file to text, you should select an option on the list and then proceed to the next step. Otherwise, the computer can only convert normal PDF files for you. The illustration presents all the options for converting normal PDF files (from option 1 to 7) and the options for converting scanned PDF files (the rest six options). For instance, if your source scanned PDF files are English, you can select option 8.

Step 5: Choose RTF as the output format
Two options are listed in the Output Formats group box. The first option, MS Word Document, is the default. So, if you want to convert scanned PDF to DOC, you can skip to the next step. The second option is Rich Text Format, which enables you to convert PDF to documents in RTF format. As a matter of face you can choose either DOC or RTF as the output format. Here for instance, we select the second option.

Step 6: Select other options
The scanned PDF to Text OCR Converter also supports you to select page range, convert password protected PDF files, view the process of conversion, and view after convert.
Page Range group box:provides a convenient way to convert the whole PDF file, or a part of the PDF file to Word document.
Page Range edit box:you can input either master password or user password in the edit box, depending on your priority.
View after convert check box:you can also choose to not view the output files if you like.
Done progress:displays the status of conversion progress.

Step 7: Convert scanned PDF to RTF
Click Convert, > select a proper folder in the Browse for Folder dialog box, > click OK to export the RTF files in the selected folder in your computer. After these steps, RTF files are created in your computer.

Step 8: Save RTF files in TXT format
The RTF files will be opened in MS Office by default, if you have not canceled it by clicking the View after converter check box before. In case the RTF files are not opened, you can open them in MS Office by clicking File, >click Save as to open the Save as dialog box, >Select a folder in the list box, > specify Plain text as the Save as type, > type the name in the File Name edit box, > click Save to save the files in TXT format.
The names of the outputting files will based on the name you have given.

Step 9: Comparison
The comparison between the content of the original scanned PDF file and output text gives an example for you to evaluate the effect of the scanned PDF to TEXT conversion.
